President-elect Donald Trump attended Saturday’s Army-Navy game in Baltimore, following in the footsteps of of several U.S. presidents over the past 100-plus years. From Theodore Roosevelt to Woodrow Wilson to Harry Truman to Bill Clinton to President Obama, the presence of the commander-in-chief has been a tradition when these two service academies face off on the gridiron.

Trump swung by the CBS broadcast booth for a quick visit with play-by-play man Verne Lundquist and color guy Gary Danielson. And what did the soon-to-be leader of the free world have to say for himself? Why, he criticized the quality of play, of course.

“Why did you decide to attend this particular game?†Lundquist inquired.
“I just love the armed forces,†Trump replied. “Love the folks. The spirit is so incredible. I mean, I don’t know if it’s necessarily the best football. But boy, do they have spirit.â€
