1. Fidel Castro, the fiery apostle of revolution who defied the United States for nearly half a century as Cubaâs leader, died Friday. He was 90.
After a two-day period of public mourning in Havana on Monday and Tuesday, his ashes will be moved across the country. Heâll be put to rest Sunday, Dec. 4, in Santiago de Cuba.
Itâs been a decade since he ran the country. His brother, Raúl Castro, has ruled since he stepped aside.
